Poseidon and Medusa didn’t get along. The gods in general are just very uh.. petty! But the two were given the opportunity to have a city named after them (now Athens) to decide who got the naming rights, they each gave a gift to the city. Poseidon gave the gift of a spring that could tell them if the ocean was safe to sail into. Athena gave the gift of the olive branch, meaning food and an oil that could help keep them warm! The men favored Poseidon’s gift while the women favored Athena’s. However there were more women in the town, so they voted to have Athena be the winner! This angered Poseidon, he made it so the ocean was rough and unable for the city to fish for their food. To compromise, the women lost their ability to vote, meaning Poseidon would allow them to go into the ocean again safely.

The Greek Mythology collection is one I’ve had in my brain for almost a year now and I am so excited to have it available now!

Some background on these acrylic material pieces, all shapes/illustrations are designed by me either on my iPad or on Adobe Illustrator. They are cut out with a laser cutter and then need to have their backings peeled off front and back before they are assembled.

Despite being a type of plastic, they are still very durable and lightweight. All the earrings posts are nickel free and hypoallergenic. To attach my earring posts, I use resin, if you have any known allergies, feel free to reach out to me via email and I can use another method for you.
