Argus was a giant that had one hundred eyes! He was a servant to Hera, queen of the gods. She put Argus in charge of guarding a cow, named Io, who was actually a woman that her husband Zeus was getting a little too friendly with. Zeus wanted to set Io free so he sent Hermes to go kill Argus. He was very clever, instead of using any tricks, he went to Argus as a normal man and played the flute for him, eventually they started talking and Hermes used boring stories to help Argus fall asleep. It wasn’t until all one hundred eyes shut that Hermes took his magic staff and killed him. Hera was saddened by this as he was loyal to her – she plucked all of his eyes and placed them on the tail feathers of her favorite bird, the peacock!

The Greek Mythology collection is one I’ve had in my brain for almost a year now and I am so excited to have it available now!

Some background on these acrylic material pieces, all shapes/illustrations are designed by me either on my iPad or on Adobe Illustrator. They are cut out with a laser cutter and then need to have their backings peeled off front and back before they are assembled.

Despite being a type of plastic, they are still very durable and lightweight. All the earrings posts are nickel free and hypoallergenic. To attach my earring posts, I use resin, if you have any known allergies, feel free to reach out to me via email and I can use another method for you.
