The gods were known to have feuds with one another, and rightfully so, they plays cruel tricks on one another. One day Apollo angered the god Eros (more commonly known as Cupid) who had the ability to take his arrows and make someone fall in love, or never be capable of feeling love again. Eros made Apollo fall in love with the river nymph Daphne, however he also made it so Daphne was unable to love another.
Apollo constantly tried to pursue her, to the point of harassment. This tormented Daphne and she begged Gaia, the goddess of creation to free her from this pain. She then turned Daphne into the laurel plant, which Apollo in turn decided to take up as his symbol, he is very commonly depicted with the Laurel branch.
The Greek Mythology collection is one I’ve had in my brain for almost a year now and I am so excited to have it available now!
Some background on these acrylic material pieces, all shapes/illustrations are designed by me either on my iPad or on Adobe Illustrator. They are cut out with a laser cutter and then need to have their backings peeled off front and back before they are assembled.
Despite being a type of plastic, they are still very durable and lightweight. All the earrings posts are nickel free and hypoallergenic. To attach my earring posts, I use resin, if you have any known allergies, feel free to reach out to me via email and I can use another method for you.
