Icarus and his father Daedalus are trying to escape the island of Crete. Daedalus was a brilliant inventor, he crafted the labyrinth that’s homed the Minotaur! He also made 2 sets of wings made out of feathers and wax, these would be their ticket to freedom! Daedalus warned his son to not fly too low or else the moisture of the sea would dampen the feathers or to fly to high as the sun would melt the wax. He took his fathers advice until he started to see how beautiful the sky was, he flew higher and higher until the wax from his wings melted and he plummeted down to the sea. Unfortunately, Icarus drowned and his father mourned.

The Greek Mythology collection is one I’ve had in my brain for almost a year now and I am so excited to have it available now!

Some background on these acrylic material pieces, all shapes/illustrations are designed by me either on my iPad or on Adobe Illustrator. They are cut out with a laser cutter and then need to have their backings peeled off front and back before they are assembled.

Despite being a type of plastic, they are still very durable and lightweight. All the earrings posts are nickel free and hypoallergenic. To attach my earring posts, I use resin, if you have any known allergies, feel free to reach out to me via email and I can use another method for you.
