The Goddess Artemis had several followers/worshippers, one of them being Callisto, a beautiful nymph. Of course, wherever there is a beautiful woman, you might find Zeus (King of the Gods) lurking around. In different versions of the myth, they fall in love or he tricks Callisto into thinking he is Artemis, and shortly after their son Arcas was born. Hera (Queen of the Gods) finds out about this relationship and transforms Callisto into a bear. Years later, Arcas is hunting and comes across Callisto and is just about to kill her – unable to watch this tragedy, Zeus transforms him into a bear as well and places them as constellations in the sky! The star patterns look like a bear shape/baby bear. Although this myth is sad, they still have a happy ending as they are able to be together forever!

The Greek Mythology collection is one I’ve had in my brain for almost a year now and I am so excited to have it available now!

Some background on these acrylic material pieces, all shapes/illustrations are designed by me either on my iPad or on Adobe Illustrator. They are cut out with a laser cutter and then need to have their backings peeled off front and back before they are assembled.

Despite being a type of plastic, they are still very durable and lightweight. All the earrings posts are nickel free and hypoallergenic. To attach my earring posts, I use resin, if you have any known allergies, feel free to reach out to me via email and I can use another method for you.
